{March 20, 2012} Will The Hunger Games surpass its rival Harry Potter and Twilight opening at the box office this weekend ?

Move over Harry Potter and Twilight fans, there is hype up new high catch fever series in town called“ Hunger Game.” Sources already having a prediction this movie is going to gross over 140 million dollars in their first two days opening weekend at the box office.

The book and the movies are based all around the major event happened an unknown apocalyptic event and in which the nation knows as Panem. Each own town is consider a District, and there is District 12, and from each district they must select one boy and one girl from each of the district and it’s among the age of 12 to 18 which was being selected by annual lottery and which ever name were drawn they must be in the Hunger game have to fight for their capital and as well as to see who can be the last one standing at the end of the game. I am not going into detail about the movies as well as the book itself, I just let you all read and watch the movie yourself and decide for yourself on which is better book or the movie.

Just today I’ve personally witness the madness crazy fans were lining up at Barns and Nobel at Union Square in (Manhattan, NYC) today meeting with the cast for the Hunger Games! Some of the fans even camp out for the event this is how big it is. For the most part fans were behaving and most were just hanging out with family, friends. Soon as the cars pull up with the cast mate of Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson showed up outside for book signing which were just getting started it was totally craziness all you can heard was screaming and mobs of fans running screaming as quoted from fans running to the cast “ omg omg I love you Jennifer and Josh.” Eager fans could not wait another minute to get their book signed.

My friends and I were the fortunate among around 300 lucky the fans who received wristband but the catch was you were not guarantee to meet the main cast of the Hunger Games (Jennifer and Josh) unless they have mobs of friends staying in line for them through the day

Sources reveled among the 300 fans that relieved to have the wristband and for which only around 180 to about 200 fans have met Jennifer and Josh. Which my friends and I were lucky enough to be part of those 200 fans to have met the main cast. I was a bit upset when they told us we were not allowed to take picture with Jennifer and Josh at the signing, not sure why is to that but all over all Jennifer and Josh were very delightful to have met their fans as well and were very down to earth as well as greeted fans with smile at the book signing.

The surprise of the day was when Jack Quaid aka Marvel who is Denis Quad and Meg Ryan‘s son walked by 14th at street at about 1:30 in the afternoon. Jack goes to NYU and had no idea the Barnes & Nobel cast signing on 14th street was going on and was asking people what the event was for. So people in line ran up to him to take photos and have him sign Hunger Game related things. He did but then he told people had to go being he had a final to catch at NYU. That was purely a treat for the fans at the same time it was refreshing to see how humble being whom his parents are .

{February 29, 2012} 21 Jump Street my movie review !

This is my screening ticket for the movie 🙂 !

21 Jump Street is full with the sensible adult humor kind of movie, all over all it was a good movie to see from the scale of 1 being the crap and 10 being excellent, this movie I give it 6 ½. The reason being the plot was very throughout out but with the climax of the movie development is just starts out slow and then toward the middle of the movie it picks up.

The movie opens with high school students being bullies by the popular kids and as the story developed both Schmidt and Jenko meet yet at again at the police force school as the result they become friends and help each other studies and get through the police academies exams .

After they both pass the police academies test and went out to the work force field as their first assignment they were given the task of strolling in a park and they were not to excited about the job at first because they were not making any arrest, but as they strolled through the park with their eyes open Schmidt and Jenko saw a drug dealers were using cocaine as Schmidt and Jenko proceeded to chase them down and successfully hand cuff one of the drug dealers, the other drug dealer that Schmidt had catch ran away, after the first attempt arrest was made both and Jenko were back at the police chief office, their case was drooped simply because the rookies officers (Schmidt and Jenko ) both did not know their mores office code of law conduct. After that the police chief gave them another assignment and send them to another location to be once again high school students but this time they be playing the under cover polices to bust a new and popular drug before it went viral to the high school and before it spread to other high school.

The kid who plays Schmidt character which plays by the Jonah Hill, later in the movie he goes by the name of Doug, as a student at high school but what the students does not know that is he is an under cover cop in an all drug out high school, as his partner Jenko which plays by Channing Tatum, later in the movie he became Brad as his school name also an under cover cop, which no one in the high school knows either.

Doug and Brad almost get expelled from the first day of school by being cool and Brad punches a guy down and later finds out that he is among the sensible topic of using the word “gay” and “black” all in one sense. The principal of the school warns them if they get called into the office again they will be expelled from the school. Being they were in the principle office and he asked which student (Schmidt or Jenko) were Doug and which one was Brad, so they were mixing up the character in the office, the person who plays Doug now was Brad, so they had to switches classes with each other and take the exact opposite courses which neither one has any knowledge about.

to crack the case Brad was in the Chemistry class which he has no interest in and Doug which was in acting and theater classes which also he has no interest in, now remember the both character has switches places at the principal office as the result they both went on to precedes the classes to crack the case on whom is the head dealer and supplier of the popular drug.

The movie went on and on at the end they learned that the guy with the pinenita is the key to the supplier of the drug that the kids were using at this popular high school.

Toward the end of the movie they finally cracked the case at prom with having a tough guy meeting the drug dealers as well as they finally learned the two high school students were under cover cops at the schools were just regular students at that high school, but the end of the it was the…

(Principal was the supplier of the drug to the students to make some money on the side)

Side note, Johnny Deep was one under cop from jump 21 in the movie but it was revealed at the end of the movie b4 a crucial scene.

That is my take on the movie of 21 Jump Street

(The movie). All over all it was good, but don’t take my words for it goes see the movie if you would like.

{February 29, 2012} Linsanity world still continues…

Jeremy Lin is also known as Linsanity is the talk in the world of sport these days, among all sport fans as well as none sport fans either your Knicks fans or not. It just seems Linsanity fans are just out in full force, no matter what the subject matter is Jeremy Lin is always the topic wherever we turn.

Ben & Jerry even have a fortune cookie favors named Linsanity, but later they apologized for creating the favor which includes swirls of lychee and fortune cookies. The question is why apologized to the mass public after supposedly some complains were made, or it’s the ice cream itself just simply bad taste and the fortune cookies went soggy after being dumping into an ice cream. Surely none of Asians are complaining for that matter, we were just honored to have a great Taiwanese basketball player joining the Knicks team as well as having an ice cream name after him.

Many people are making the great assumptions of how or what to say about Jeremy Lin, simply it just stuns me no matter what you say people will be on your case, just as example two TV personalities on ESPN has been fired after making rude comments about Jeremy Lin and his style of playing the games on the court, one of the TV personalities on ESPN hade made the ethic slur that had offended the Asian community.

Seriously, can everyone just leave Jeremy Lin alone and let him just play basketball for once and not talk crap about him. Just because he is an Asian American it does not make the right for people to make fun of him for playing basketball.

I was lucky enough to see Jeremy Lin Play basketball at MSG a week ago where he shot 28 points in one game that is pretty impressive as a Taiwanese American, I can honestly say I am very proud to be standing there to watch him play the game and score the amount point he did. New York Knicks ends up winning the game of the score 104 to 97 against the Mavericks.

Bring sexyback one and only person comes to mind is singer, actor Justin Timberlake had announced as of January 9^th 2012, at the 2012 Consumer Electronics show (CES) in Las Vegas as the MySpace Co Owner Justin explains and with the sponsorships of Panasonic Viera Internet connected TV this will set for a whole new meaning of going to MySpace social network site.

Justin is bring back MySpace with whole new twist level with going digital age generation, he will bring MySpace into MySpace TV with involvement of bands and artist interaction with their fans on the website. As quoted from Justin Timberlake “ We’re ready to take Television and entertainment to the next step by upgrading to a social network experiences.”

Not only music, artist can have an interaction with their fans with this new MySpace revamp social media site there will also be a MySpace TV application, which from a source at the conference “ We can chat about a basketball game or any other show they are watching, or invite friends to join them in a virtual viewing party, and that we decided to add another layer on top of this social media to make it it’s a traditional TV services said by MySpace CEO Tim Vanderhook. “

{January 5, 2012} Breaking News ~ Nick Cannon has been hospitalized for Kidney failure

Nick Cannon and his family was on a get away vacation time with his family, but we were notified by his wife Mariah Carey that Nick has been hospitalized with a kidney failure late Tuesday afternoon while they were in Aspen Colorado.

As Mariah urge the fans to continue to pray for Nick ‘s recovery, and share the picture with the fans on twitter of herself by his hospital bedside. Later on the week as Nick had tweeted stated the fact on his twitter page to his fans as quoted “ Currently being transferred to a hospital in LA. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern. You know me… I will be a’igh”.

As far as this goes, now we just have to wait and see how Nick is doing. All in all this must be a very scary situation for both the fans to hear and as well as for Nick’s family to deal with.

It’s this necessary with Alec Baldwin to make a fool out yourself and get kicked off a plane by playing a game on the plane and being obsessive with the game of Word W Friends and calling the fight attendant different names simply because you can’t get your way. As a statement from Mr. Baldwin himself according to a flight crew “ He was willing to leave a plan for it “ that’s how much he loves the game Word W Friends.

WOW! I am speechless, it’s this what comes down to Alec really you have to be kidding me! {November 20, 2011} Huge turn and attracting well-known celebrities to International Film Festival Manhattan

Luis Peron and Co founder Gerry Balasta founded International Film Festival Manhattan 2011, with the help of marking team from Grace Labaguis and Adora Penn as well as myself (Susan Hu) being the Director of Social Media for the IFFM. As well as thanking all the volunteers making this film festival possible.

Not only that every dollar of the ticket sales goes to Gerry’s charity project called “ The Mountain Hop project” to help Kids in the Philippines to go to school and get an education so they don’t have to pick up mountain trash for a living and support their family, these kids are between the age of 5 to young adult with no education, with this Mountain Hope Project we are hoping to sent at least 5 kids to school each year. We already have couple kids in school and saw the amazing progress they are making already for their future.

The International Film Festival Manhattan was a hug success some of the biggest feature film was being screen as our pick feature film such as True Bromance this film was produce by Director Sebastian Doggart and was also the film festival opening night screening, not only the story was documentary featuring the actor himself from Home Alone 1 and 2 Devin Ratray as the story went on about how interesting of one person trying to pursue their dream lover at the same time they have discover themselves in the process of doing this film that they have discover all love will not work out the same way as they expected.Our opening night Red Carpet we have none other then Devin Ratray himself coming he is from the movie Home Alone 1 and 2 to help kicking off the celebration of the Film Festival Manhattan.

IFFM had feature some of the best of the best Indies films such as many movies created by talented low or to almost no budget films makers, as such we have the ever popular the Cinema Nights Shorts created by one of and only loveable Frances Lozada, Frank Lozada, Carlos Lozada, Frank Gonzales family and the rest of team of muti culture cross generational experiences film makers in New York City.All in all was just a great experiences for many of the Indies film maker to come out and have their film shown on the big screen ,they were very excited to their first ever movie shown at a film festival.

On our closing night we managed to also to have the biggest feature movie called “ Hollywood to Dollywood.” We also were very lucky to have twin main actors Gary Lane and Larry Lane as well as special Celebrity guest actor Chad Allen on our Red Carpet for our closing night and as well as being in the movie house. Chad Allen was known for many of his roles such as on the showDr .Quinn Medicine playing as Matthew Cooper on CBS.

Strikingly, IFFM has been getting a huge buzz from the New York Times , and from movieticket.com web page as well as some of the media buzz in the Philippines with the Glee Singer Charice on twitter about the International Film Festival of Manhattan.
