{August 16, 2012}   International Film Festival Manhattan looking for talents and filmmakers to submit to our 2nd Annual event in November

The Call for Entries for the 2nd Annual International Film Festival
Manhattan 2012 is Extended.

One of the newest but one of the most exciting Film Festival in the
New York City area has its Call for Entries extended.

The 2nd Annual International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) which
proudly holds it’s film festival screenings at the historic Quad
Cinema (13 St NYC) will be happening on November 9 – 15, 2012.
Submissions are handled by withoutabox.com.

The Late Deadline is on August 25, 2012. The
last chance to submit is on the Extended Deadline on September 25,
2012.

Luis Pedron the IFFM Festival Director/Programmer says, “Our

programming encompasses all different genres of diverse program from
various countries around the world. In addition we are always on the
look out for socially relevant films.  We will have screenings,
seminars, parties, red carpet events and a rocking awards night.”

The categories which will be the basis for the major awards are:

Global Narrative Feature Film
US Narrative Feature Film
Global Documentary Feature Film
US Documentary Feature Film
Short Films
Music Video

Continuing our tradition from last year’s event, IFFM will also be
giving out special awards.

A partial Official Selection list will be announced on August 31, 2012.
The complete Official Selection list will be publicized on October 2, 2012

Gerry Balasta, Co-Founder of IFFM, mentions that,
“New York City is the capital of the world, a place where the world
converges. We would like to celebrate international and independent
films. We have a vision that film as a medium can make a positive
impact in the world and the belief that New York City is the best
place to make this happen.”

Erin Mairead O’Kane, IFFM Managing Director shares that, “We have seen
how film, as a powerful medium can make a direct impact on lives of
the audiences. We also want to reflect on our festival, the unique
diversity of New York’s culture and its people. IFFM knows that New
Yorkers appreciate a good film or a well-managed event.”

Susan Hu, IFFM Communications/Social Media Director states, ” We
create a vibrant film festival for filmmakers to showcase their works
in New York. We support filmmakers to help them in marketing  – to
find their audiences through the different media and social media
platforms.”
